Meet Erik Castricum – Hero Open Source Developer for July–August
Every two months we acknowledge the person who has submitted the most accepted commits to our AOSP for Xperia devices, as our Hero Open Source Developer. Today, we are happy to announce that Dutch developer Erik Castricum has been selected as Sony Hero Open Source Developer for the period July–August. Read on about Erik, our open source projects, and how you can become the next Hero Open Source Developer.
The Hero Open Source Developers program recognises the important contributions made by developers in the open source community. The Hero Open Source Developer will be the person who has submitted most accepted commits to some of our projects on the SonyXperiaDev GitHub during the two preceding months, and will receive a device from Sony as a reward.
Eric Castricum
For his valuable contributions during July–August, mainly regarding the kernel, and the Yukon and Eagle devices, Erik Castricum has been selected as our latest Hero Open Source Developer. Erik is a 43-year-old second-line service desk supervisor at KPN, one of the largest telecom providers in the Netherlands. He is married and has two young kids, aged 2 and 3. Erik describes himself as always busy. When not working or spending time with his family, there is always time for open source Android development. Erik says that being selected as Hero Open Source Developer motivates him to keep on contributing. Thanks Erik, and good luck going forward!
Could you be our next hero open source developer?
To take part and potentially become our next Hero Open Source Developer, simply develop and submit your commits to our kernel and device projects listed at the Hero Open Source Developers page.
