Developer World team has selected the next Hero Open Source Developer who has made the most accepted commits to our projects on the SonyXperiaDev GitHub. During the months of May and June, Brazilian developer Humberto Borba contributed the most to our projects. Read on for more details about Humberto, and learn how you could become the next Hero Open Source Developer.

The Hero Open Source Developer program recognises the important contributions made by many of you developers in our open source community to our SonyXperiaDev GitHub projects. Every two months we acknowledge a hero open source developer who has submitted the most accepted commits to our AOSP for Xperia projects. For the months of January to February, we recognised Abhinav Jhanwar as the first hero open source developer, followed by David Viteri and Marin Spajić in March-April. Now, we’re happy to announce newest hero open source developer for May to June – Humberto Borba.

Humberto Borba
Humberto Borba takes the title of Hero Open Source Developer May-June 2015. In this timeframe Humberto contributed 46 accepted commits to our kernel and device projects, and we are awarding him an Xperia device as a gesture for his efforts. Humberto is 39-year-old developer and lives in Brasilia, Brazil. He’s a senior analyst for a technology company and has an educational background in Computer Information Systems. He’s also a member of Android development teams including CyanogenMod and OmniROM. His hobbies include fitness (walking and swimming), cooking for his family, music (he is a drummer), and Android development. Humberto’s main challenge is splitting his time between all his activities. Humberto says, “When I’m not spending time with my wife and three pretty daughters, I’m always looking for opportunities to work on Android projects!”

Congratulations Humberto! Thank you for your outstanding contributions!
