Developer contest: Sony is giving away 100 Spresense dev boards

Sony is teaming up with Hackster and launching a developer contest with the theme “Make it Better“. The idea is to allow developers to unleash their creativity with the Spresense development board and create projects that improve processes in people’s private or professional lives. As an incentive to kick off the contest, the best 100 submitted project ideas get awarded with the Spresense main board and Extension board, but anyone can participate by getting a dev board on their own as well (order Spresense online). The cut-off date for getting free hardware is Dec 6 and the final submission deadline for when your project should be fully developed and submitted in Feb 4 next year.
Developers who submit completed Spresense projects compete for a total of $6000 value of Sony products; worth mentioning are the PS4 Pro & PS VR bundles. There are four projects categories with each having the same set of prizes:
- Best Audio or Microphone Project
- Best Use of Spresense’ Multicore Microcontroller
- Best GPS Project using Spresense
- Most Creative Spresense Project Overall
