Agri-Tech and IIoT solutions powered by Spresense at the CWIC conference in UK, June 26

The Spresense team will join the Cambridge Wireless International Conference in UK, June 26, where we will showcase enterprise level solutions for the fields of Agri-Tech and IIoT. With its combination of power efficiency and high computing ability, Spresense enables many of those use cases that otherwise are limited by either power supply or the dependency on a cloud connected computing server to perform the calculations.
Let’s define the meaning of the three acronyms in the headline and how they relate to the Spresense development board:
- Agri-Tech: technology used within the field of agriculture, such as making production more effective, saving resources, increasing crop yields, and more efficient use of pesticides. Common tech components used for this field are power-efficient microcontrollers, cameras and sensors that could be mounted on an autonomous moving platform (e.g. flying drone or rover). Spresense has already been deployed in this area and one of the most recent examples is the project done by the IBM Watson team.
- IIoT: while IoT is familiar to most people in the tech business, the “IIoT” is focusing on the industrial applications of IoT such as factory automation, production control, and predictive maintenance. We’ll show a live demo of the latter at the conference and explain the many economic benefits of introducing these types of solutions into industry processes.
- CWIC is the Cambridge Wireless International Conference taking place June 26 in UK, gathering speakers and attendees from both the business and technology fields. The conference will cover the topics of future mobility, agriculture, consumer electronics, utilities, and smart cities – of which all are relevant deployment areas for Spresense.
