Open Devices

For some of the Xperia™ devices, we provide Android™ Open Source Project (AOSP) device configurations on GitHub. This means that the software will be open for you as a developer to use and contribute to. This is a way for us to support the open Android community, and it is also a tool for us to facilitate and verify contributions to AOSP.

Hero Open Source Developer

This was an initiative that recognized the work of developers by acknowledging the person who submitted most accepted commits to some of our projects on the SonyXperiaDev GitHub.

Open SmartWatch Project

With an alternative firmware for SmartWatch, you can take control of SmartWatch as a hardware peripheral in new ways, and create new experimental use cases and innovations.

Dynamic sensor HAL

DASH is our Android sensor HAL implementation, which is available as open source on GitHub. It that has scalability and configurability in its design, to make it work across multiple devices.

ANT+

ANT+ is a reliable digital wireless personal network protocol standard with excellent power efficiency, mainly designed for gathering and transfer of sensor data, and it has become especially popular within the sports and health industry.

WebGL

WebGL is a low-level API JavaScript API defined by the Khronos Group. The API is based on OpenGL ES 2.0 and enables support for 3D graphics. WebGL enables application developers to take advantage of capabilities provided by graphical processor units.
