What can I do using the Camera Remote API?

What devices can I develop for?

The API is agnostic, so you can develop for several different platforms, such as iOS and Android. This means you can develop apps for Sony’s Xperia™ smartphones, or other Wi-Fi® compatible smartphones and tablets.

Can I develop apps that run on Sony cameras?

It’s currently not possible to develop apps that run on cameras, but you can control a number of features remotely with the Camera Remote API.

Does the Camera Remote API cost anything?

No, for now the Camera Remote API is free.

It’s designed to work on Android version 2.3 or later (some devices may not be supported).

We recommend you to use Android™ SDK version 4.2.2 (API Level 17).
